FOWOSO Upbeat as First Summit Approaches.

As part of the preparations for the upcoming first FOWOSO summit, the Forum for Wives of Ondo State Officials plus Female Political Appointees (FOWOSO) recently organized a mock poster presentation at Government House, Alagbaka.

The event, which featured brief seminars before a panel of Judges by the former chairpersons of the 18 local government areas in Ondo State, is aimed at evaluating the success of FOWOSO’s empowerment outreaches in the period.

Speaking on behalf of the founder of FOWOSO, Her Excellency Chief Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, in her welcome address, the Special Assistant to Ondo State Governor on Gender Research and Documentation, Mrs Tope Daniyan, restated the vision and mission of FOWOSO, which is to drive women empowerment and self-actualization in the state, and praised the chairpersons for their role in FOWOSO’s success story so far.

At the end of the presentations, the lead judge, Prof Mrs Yinka Ogunlade (Former Deputy VC Academics, Ekiti State University), congratulated the former chairpersons for their courage and support towards achieving FOWOSO’s objectives. She also encouraged them to harness their locally available resources, and to sustain the outcomes of the outreaches.

In her remarks, the Senior Special Assistant to Ondo State Governor on Women Affairs, Mrs Titi Adeyemi, extolled Ondo First Lady for the unique and outstanding FOWOSO initiative, and urged everyone to enthusiastically look forward to the upcoming summit.

The well-attended event also had in attendance FOWOSO members, BAAF Technical Team, Gentlemen of the Press, and others.

It would be recalled that FOWOSO had earlier announced a 2-day summit slated for the 5th and 6th of December 2018, at the Dome and Arcade along Igbatoro Road respectively.

The Summit is in commemoration of FOWOSO’s one year of driving Gender Equality and improving family health through Women Empowerment Projects and Health Awareness activities.
