5+ Years Of Accomplishments

The Foundation for Wives of Ondo State Officials and female Political Appointees (FOWOSO) was founded on the 7th of December, 2017, by Her Excellency, Chief Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, wife of the Executive Governor of Ondo State, to drive women’s empowerment, actualize women’s rights, and promote gender equality.
The Foundation held its first annual summit in 2018 to address the growing concern about women’s low contribution to the development of the state. Subsequently, 3500 women have been trained and empowered in Ondo State and beyond in various skills, with many given access to credit facilities, equipment, and capacity development training.
To actualize its mission to empower women at all levels and to enlist the participation of women in Ondo State and beyond in the socio-economic development of the state and the nation at large, FOWOSO partners with the Office of the Wife of the Governor and the Ondo State Ministry of Women Affairs annually to organize a 2-day summit to celebrate its achievements throughout the year.
